Where did we start?

In the New York Tri-State area, business was carried on under the name of Petrillo Contracting Corporation and its subsidiary, Petco Homes Inc. Petrillo Contracting Corporation was a full service, multi-faceted building corporation that developed experience and expertise in the construction of distinguished office facilities and quality residences. The firm was associated with a variety of projects that extended from major site work developments to the construction of the award winning AAA Headquarters building in Garden City, New York.  Our construction work was carried out with attention to detail and the highest caliber of workmanship in order to bring excellence and elegance to the final project.

Petco Homes Inc.

Under its subsidiary, Petco Homes Inc., several homes were built in the Northern Bergen County area and Long Island.  In both locations, the company enjoyed a reputation for bringing back old world quality and classic architectural detail to the homes it constructed. Traditional with Petco Homes was trim work and extensive moldings that brought elegance and charm to the residence.  Cathedral ceilings with a tasteful use of skylights was another feature that created the feeling of spaciousness and a bright and open environment. Because quality control was foremost, the company did the majority of the work with its own forces leaving only those specialties such as masonry, plumbing, electrical and the HVAC system to its sub-contractors. Petco Homes Inc. was a registered builder with the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.

 

The Charlotte Experience

With the relocation to the Charlotte area from the Tri-State region the business focus changed from the construction of isolated homes to tract development and construction.  The first project under taken was the development of 154 acres in southern Charlotte.  The project known as Deerfield Creek was located on Tilley Morris Road and was a planned Community for approximately 218 homes.  A description of the project was featured in the “Builder/Architect” magazine.  A copy of the published article follows. Following the completion of construction at the Deerfield Creek subdivision the resulting company spawned by the activities of the development was Sunbelt Utilities Corporation in 1999. Sunbelt Utilities Corp. as the name implies contracts with developers to construct the infrastructure for their subdivisions.  The company is capable of providing turnkey services that extend from land clearing to the provision of all utility services.
